This session delves on the contribution of air transport facilitation to the growth of the aviation industry, exploring innovative approaches that can drive progress towards a more sustainable development of civil aviation. Cooperation, collaboration and Inter-Agency Coordination

During this Session, attendees will receive an overview of existing Standards and Recommended Practices that pertain to the Implementation of National Air Transport Facilitation Programmes (NATFP) and establishment of National Air Transport Facilitation Committees (NATFC). The urgent need of national coordination and international cooperation in that area will be discussed through the presentation of different communication strategies between national and international stakeholders involved in air transport facilitation. The establishment of an effective collaboration mechanism between the various ICAO expert Groups will also be highlighted.

Travel Document Integrity and Border Control

This Session aims to provide an overview of the current state of Standardized implementation of Machine-Readable Travel Documents (MRTDs) and electronic MRTDs (eMRTDs) as well as a global approach to the deployment of new technologies for the issuance and inspection of travel documents based on Doc 9303 specifications as well as identity verification. It will also address the strategies to reduce congestion at departure control points with the definition of new paradigms in the deployment of new technologies for clearance through the various border controls; This entails strategies to be considered for rationalizing the processing of passengers and crews during their journey.

Combatting Human Trafficking
